Some PR campaigns make noise. Others actually do something. When FlightPath3D and Delta teamed up to improve in-flight accessibility, Jetway helped tell the story in a way that cut through the usual fluff. The result: thoughtful press, real recognition, and a moment where innovation and inclusivity met in the sky… and in the headlines!
The Backstory
FlightPath3D, the tech firm behind those interactive passenger maps on seatback screens, worked with Delta Air Lines’ disability advisory board to overhaul its accessibility features. The aim was to make it easier for passengers with visual impairments and certain cognitive disabilities to navigate their journey at 35,000 feet.
It wasn’t just a checkbox exercise. This was a fast, focused collaboration that made a real product better. Jetway’s job was to make sure the rest of the industry, and the flying public took notice.
What We Did
We worked hand-in-hand with Delta’s comms team to get the story out:
– Aligned the message so it wasn’t diluted by jargon or lost in corporate speak.
– Brought it to life Through collaboration, targeted media pitching, press interviews, and more. We secured speaking slots for executives from both sides at key industry gatherings, and we have submitted the innovation to a variety of awards, winning two respected awards so far (but there are still more pending!)
– Targeted media who cover accessibility, aviation, and tech, and made sure they understood why this mattered.
Where It Landed
We were thrilled to read about this news in Travel + Leisure, Travel Weekly, MSN, and a long list of trade media titles.
We secured 33 pieces of media coverage (that we could find) overall.
This amounted to almost 900,000 impressions.
No gimmicks, no viral dances. We believe that straightforward storytelling is what’s helping shift the conversation about accessibility in aviation.
Why It Mattered
This campaign showed what happens when airlines, tech companies, and accessibility advocates actually listen to each other. And when a PR team knows how to shape that collaboration into something people want to read about.
Jetway helps brands get noticed for the right reasons. If your story deserves more than lip service, you know where to find us.
