Jetway’s founder to host 2024 Crystal Cabin Awards at AIX
Jetway Communications founder/director Maryann Simson has been chosen as the official host of the 2024 Crystal Cabin Awards (CCA) Ceremony. The most prestigious and highly coveted accolade for this sector, the CCA’s are often referred to as “the Oscars of the aircraft interiors industry.”
Maryann is no stranger to the awards, having already hosted them four times before. The first was in 2016 when she co-hosted with then colleague Mary Kirby, founder and editor of Runway Girl Network. She then returned to host the ceremony in 2017, 2018 and 2019 during her tenure as Director of APEX Media.
In light of the announcement, Maryann commented, “It’s an honour to be invited back to host what is the most special event of the year for so many in our industry. The energy and excitement that can be felt at this event is palpable and it’s wonderful to again be part of a program that does so much to foster and celebrate innovation in aircraft interiors.”
“During all my years at the event, both as a journalist and a host, I am consistently inspired by the number of great minds that are working non-stop to conceive new products and services that improve air travel. I look forward to seeing old friends and making new acquaintances throughout the night, and more generally to being back at the Aircraft Interiors Expo and enjoying all it has to offer in terms of networking, thought leadership and more.”
Taking place on May 28th at Hamburg’s prestigious Chambers of Commerce during the Aircraft Interiors Expo, the ceremony will see awards presented in eight different categories to entries that represent “a vision of air travel that’s more connected, more comfortable and more sustainable than ever before.” Categories include Cabin Concepts, Cabin Systems, Health & Safety, IFEC & Digital Services, Material & Components, Passenger Comforts, Sustainable Cabin and University.
